Geek Mom Matsuri?

I’ve had a few blogs over the last few years. I can be indecisive and multi-faceted. Both of these traits make it hard for me to plan a project as open-ended as a blog. When I first started, I had 3 blogs covering different topics. That was entirely too much to keep up with. I consolidated the 3 down to one that struggled to make cohesive sense. Then I started another blog anonymously with a more adult focus. That was fun for a while, but then I let real life take me away from it. I had a short-lived internet-based home business as well, and before I knew it, a year had gone by without me updating either site. So I took them both down.

Fast forward to today, and I want to blog again. But what do I call it? I want a space where I can talk about anything and everything, because I’m in a constant state of flux. I’m trying to find myself, so it’s not like I have a specific niche that I know I want to live in. What am I?

I’m a geek. First and foremost, I love learning. I am a geek about a great many topics. This is one thing that has never changed in my life. Courtesy dictionary.com:

geek: (noun) 2. a person who has excessive enthusiasm for and some expertise about a specialized subject or activity

I am also a mother. This is another thing that will never change now that it has happened.

Matsuri is the Japanese word for “festival” (or “feast”, in some cases) and I could not think of a better way to describe what I want this blog to be. I want to celebrate the things that make us happy. I say us because I assume you have some of the same interests that I do, right? I love that this word means festival and feast because I also looooooovve food. There will be no shortage of kitchen exploration here at GMM, but I digress…

Geek Mom Matsuri is a celebration of us, so please feel free to share your stories of self-discovery and general geekdom. Let’s find ourselves!
